AREA Ruhr International Research Fellow Prof. Fujihara Tatsushi gives Presentation on 21 October 2024

AREA Ruhr International Research Fellow Prof. Fujihara Tatsushi from the Institute for Research in Humanities at Kyoto University in Japan will give a presentation on History of Food and Power in Japan and Germany in the 1940s on 21 October 2024 from 6 to 8 pm. The on-site event is conducted in cooperation with the Institute of Social Movements (RUB) and takes place at Haus der Geschichte des Ruhrgebiets (Clemensstraße 17–19, 44789 Bochum).

Professor Fujihara is a renowned specialist in food and agricultural history in Germany and Japan, as well as in environmental philosophy. Among his publications are numerous monographs in Japanese, some of which have won prestigious academic awards, as well as edited volumes and articles in English (e.g. The Handbook of Environmental History in Japan).
