AREA Ruhr läd ein zum diesjährigen AREA Day 2022. Die Veranstaltung findet im Museum DKM Duisburg statt.

Auch dieses Jahr begibt sich die AREA Ruhr „auf die Spuren Ostasiens in NRW“ und stellt anlässlich des 40-jährigen Jubiläums der Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Duisburg und Wuhan das Museum DKM mit seiner großen Sammlung ostasiatischer Kunst vor. In zwei Vorträgen resümieren Thomas Heberer und Matthias Stepan den Stand kommunaler Partnerschaften mit China und der Zusammenarbeit der deutschen und chinesischen Hochschulen im Schatten der angespannten politischen Großwetterlage.

Der diesjährige AREA Day findet in Präsenz statt. Aufgrund einer limitierten Teilnehmeranzahl im DKM Museum ist die Anmeldung für beide Teile der Veranstaltung notwendig (Teil 1 13:30–17:00 Uhr / Teil 2 17:00–19:00).

This year, the AREA Ruhr will once again “follow the traces of East Asia in NRW” and present the DKM Museum with its large collection of East Asian art on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the city partnership between Duisburg and Wuhan. In two lectures, Thomas Heberer and Matthias Stepan summarize the status of municipal partnerships with China and cooperation between German and Chinese universities in the shadow of the tense political climate.

This year’s AREA Day will take place in person. Due to a limited number of participants in the DKM Museum, registration is required for both parts of the event (Part 1: 1.30–5.00 PM / Part 2: 5.00–6.00 PM).
