C-NET RNR is mentioned in DAAD Journal (19 March 2026)

How can expertise on China be consolidated and expanded? In this article by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on research security related to China, C-NET RNR is introduced as one of 11 projects nationwide under the BMFTR’s Regio-China program line aimed at expanding regional expertise on China at German universities and research institutions.

The China Competence Network Ruhr Niederrhein (C-NET RNR) is an AREA Ruhr project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). It aims at developing regional expertise on the People’s Republic of China (PRC) by building networks and fostering knowledge exchange among local stakeholders in a sustainable fashion, and by organizing a wide range of events. Also, C-NET RNR engages in setting up a body of China-related knowledge which might be helpful for dealing with the PRC in science-related contexts.
