In the AREA Ruhr Book Talk Series we look at and discuss newly released academic books that deal with East Asia from a wide variety of disciplinary perspectives. Experts from AREA Ruhr meet up with the respective authors to have a conversation about their recent work, learn more about novel research results and discuss the “research journey” that authors had been engaged in. AREA Ruhr has publishes recorded versions of these book talk events as a podcast under the same name on major podcast streaming platforms.
Since March 2025, AREA Ruhr has been publishing its AREA Ruhr Book Talk event series as a podcast, initially only through its own homepage. Now, the podcast has been made available on the streaming platforms Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube to reach an audience surpassing the visitors of the AREA Ruhr homepage and to provide interested parties with the opportunity to listen to the podcast through their preferred streaming service.
