In cooperation with the Korean Studies department of the Faculty of East Asian Studies, Ruhr University Bochum, the Research Training Group GRK 2833 “East Asian Futures” will host a lecture by Mercator Fellow Prof. Hyung-Gu Lynn, Phd (University of British Columbia) in the Bochum Korean Studies Lecture Series. The lecture is titled “Broadcasting Eating: Meanings of Performing and Consuming Mukbang and will be held on Tuesday, 18 June 2024, 6.15 PM in the lecture hall HGB 20 on the RUB campus. Prof. Hyung-Gu Lynn, Phd holds the AECL/KEPCO Chair in Korean research at the Department of Asian Studies of the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) and is one of the Mercator Fellows at Research Training Group GRK 2833 “East Asian Futures”. His research on Korea and Japan focuses on colonialism, migration, popular culture, politics, international relations, and business history.
