On August 23rd, UDE’s new rector, Prof. Dr. Barbara Albert, new Vice-Rector for Research and Early Career Research, Prof. Dr. Astrid Westendorf, and Dr. Ute Haußmann, assistant to the rector, visited AREA Ruhr to learn more about our Central Research Unit in East Asian Studies that is part of the University Alliance Ruhr.

AREA Ruhr’s two Co-Directors, Nele Noesselt and Katja Schmidtpott, doctoral researchers, Anastasia Herber and Marc Paschke, as well as managing directors, Gwendolin Kleine Stegemann and Kerstin Lukner, were pleased to introduce AREA Ruhr’s initiatives in research and teaching, the doctoral program as well as further activities. The meeting was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with members of UDE’s board!
